Brewery Map

Ever been to a new city and wondered if there were any breweries or brewpubs close-by? Well wonder no more. There is now a website and app to find the closest brewery to wherever you are.

Created by a couple webpage developers from Raleigh, it uses a combination of BreweryDb, an open database for breweries, and Google maps. One nice feature is that it displays beers and descriptions of those beers for most breweries. I'm guessing if the brewery doesn't have their beer types listed in the database, it doesn't show up. It's not just limited to the U.S either. Give it a try on Germany or Belgium.

All in all, it's a pretty great website. Haven't seen the app yet, so maybe I'll post an update when I get to use it. Beware: you might be glued to the site for a while, looking up random cities.
