Smooth Ambler - Greenbrier Gin

So a couple of guys from Eastern NC made their way to Lewisburg, WV and opened a distillery.  Smooth Ambler has been opened since 2009 and we recently had the privilege to sample the 2nd batch of their "superb" gin.

The East Georgian discovered this new spot via a new magazine out of Morgantown, WV called WV Living.  If we ever make our way to Smooth Ambler's distillery, you can expect a full report.  By the way, go out and pick up a copy of WV living when you get a chance.  It really is a fantastic publication.

The Greenbrier Gin is presented in a really cool bottle, and the $30 price tag led us to hope for a fantastic and aromatic gin.  However, it proved heavy on the alcohol punch and not very smooth.  Some of the proper gin aromas were there, but they paled when compared to something like Tanquery.
